Eeep.: darthvegetables: If you eat animals, you support animal abuse.I don’t...
If you eat animals, you support animal abuse.
I don’t know how I can make it any simpler than that.
Erm, I’m a vegetarian, and my meat eating family are just as anti-animal abuse as I am. As are my meat eating friends and boyfriend.
Also, cows and chickens and shit…
killing is the pinnacle of abuse. there is no such thing as humane slaughter. murder is murder. why are you even vegetarian, just go an grab a mcshit somewhere.
Not necessarily. An animal being well cared for in a decent environment and then quickly and almost painlessly slaughtered is nothing compared to people becoming borderline slaves, being paid pittance in seriously dangerous working conditions so that you can sit and eat your veggie sausages with a smug grin on your face. Animal death isn’t the worst thing that can happen.
Also, humane slaughter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humane_Slaughter_Act
You want to know why I’m vegetarian? Because six years ago, I decided that not eating meat was the right choice for me, both in how I felt morally about what I was eating and simply what I was comfortable with. I didn’t like the texture, taste or thought of meat entering my body any more. (And yes, I agree that mcdonalds is occasionally guilty of animal abuse and potential of consuming products that came to my plate through methods like that put me off too) and I had the means/ability to cook my own vegetarian meals when my family ate meat. Does that mean I condemn anyone for eating meat? No. As long as they’re not actively seeking out meat harvested by cruel methods, it’s absolutely up to them what they want to put in their bodies. (which were made to live off of animal products might i add, it’s pretty fucking difficult to get adequate nutrition without meat.)
So seriously, get off of your fucking high horse and realise that everything you eat with a little ‘V’ symbol or not quite possibly has gotten to your plate through the suffering of a human being, and don’t assume that your vegetarianism makes you incredibly moral or that the shit you eat hasn’t got any consequences.
Also, if you’re gonna go into my ask box anonymously you should probably not do it five seconds after you reblog my shit telling everyone what an angel you are for condemning people who eat meat. I know meat-eaters with more morals in their mcdonalds-filled stomachs than you do in your entire hateful little vegan body.
I eat meat because a vegan or vegetarian diet would kill me, and last time I checked, I was just as anti-abuse as any of you self-righteous fuckers.
Fucking come at me.
I’m ready and waiting, let’s hear what hateful bullshit you can throw the way of the poor bitch without intestines.
The thing is, unless you only eat (incredibly expensive) humanely raised and slaughtered animals you are getting your meat from inhumane sources. Whether or not you morally don’t support animal abuse doesn’t change the fact that by buying meat from big agriculture you are buying into an abusive industry and therefore supporting that industry. So am I. So are the overwhelming majority of people in the western world. That doesn’t mean we’re bad people by any means, because corporate monopolies mean there really isn’t much choice in the matter, but we still need to be aware of where our food comes from and the conditions under which it is produced. Because if we just pretend everything is fine and dandy and we have no responsibility whatsoever then nothing will ever change.
